Villa Hermosa — Private Eastside Estate Near Canyon Road

Hidden away on a private lane in Santa Fe’s desirable Eastside, Villa Hermosa is an elegant retreat surrounded by beautiful gardens and classic Southwestern architecture. Located just blocks from renowned Canyon Road and approximately one mile from the historic Santa Fe Plaza, this exceptional property offers a peaceful, private setting while keeping Santa Fe’s celebrated galleries, restaurants, shops, and cultural attractions close at hand.

Set on approximately half an acre, Villa Hermosa is a double-adobe home filled with natural light and thoughtfully designed living spaces. Traditional vigas, brick floors, hand-troweled plaster walls, handcrafted cabinetry, and high-end finishes come together to create an atmosphere that is sophisticated while remaining distinctly Santa Fe.

The main house features an open-concept living, kitchen, and dining area designed for gathering and relaxing together. Large windows bring in abundant New Mexico sunshine and views of the surrounding gardens, while comfortable furnishings and carefully selected finishes give the home a polished yet welcoming feel.

The main residence offers three bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, providing excellent privacy for guests. The sleeping arrangements include two king-size beds and one queen-size bed.

Villa Hermosa features four fireplaces throughout the main property: one in the living room, one in the primary bedroom, and two outdoor fireplaces. Please note that only the living room fireplace in the main house is available for guest use. The other indoor fireplace and both outdoor fireplaces are nonfunctional.

Outside, a private walled yard and beautifully landscaped gardens create a secluded oasis. With ample space to enjoy Santa Fe’s high-desert climate, the grounds offer an inviting backdrop for quiet mornings, afternoon relaxation, and peaceful evenings.

The property also includes a separate one-bedroom, one-bath casita featuring a king-size bed. The casita has its own kitchen, dining area, and living room, along with a traditional kiva fireplace and a large picture window that fills the space with natural light. Mini-split units provide both cooling and heating for year-round comfort.

A private patio and garden area accompany the casita, creating a wonderful setting for outdoor dining or simply enjoying additional privacy away from the main residence. The casita’s kiva fireplace is available for guest use.

Ample parking is available on the property, adding convenience while maintaining the estate’s peaceful and secluded atmosphere.

Villa Hermosa does not generally accept pets. Exceptions may be considered under specific circumstances but must be requested and approved prior to booking.

With its beautiful adobe architecture, en-suite bedrooms, private guest casita, expansive gardens, and exceptional location near Canyon Road and the Plaza, Villa Hermosa offers a refined and peaceful setting for experiencing Santa Fe.

Important Property Information: Maximum occupancy is 6 guests, and a 5-night minimum stay is required. Private or commercial gatherings, events, and functions of any kind are not permitted. Only the living room fireplace in the main house and the fireplace in the casita are operational and available for guest use. Security cameras are installed inside the garage and outside on the property.

My family recently enjoyed a multi-generation reunion at Villa Hermosa. The house is elegant and well suited for entertaining with its open floor plan and indoor-outdoor feel. Sliding glass doors and windows fill the house with light. Cooking was a breeze with the well-appointed kitchen. The separated bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms facilitated the naps and other needs of a baby while preserving a pleasant tranquility for the grandparents.

The home is built with classical architectural features, yet is absolutely up to date with modern conveniences. The radiant floor heating made it very comfortable to join the baby on the rug. The home is well-maintained and feels brand new. We also enjoyed the yard with its mature trees and the garden with its manicured lawn.

It is a short walk to the art galleries on Canyon Road, the plaza downtown, and the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. I will enthusiastically recommend this home to my friends and relatives.

Hot water takes a very very long time. The garage door automatically closed on the back of our car. Luckily no damage. The garage door should not close automatically.
