Nestled in the rolling Sangre de Cristo foothills just north of Santa Fe, this stately gated home and attached guesthouse, designed by Michael Bodelson and built by Rick Brenner, seamlessly blend elegant Southwestern style with comfort and livability.
The open-concept floor plan of the main house includes formal living and dining areas, both featuring a shared fireplace, an inviting chef’s kitchen, a family room, and three bedrooms that strike the perfect balance between relaxation and sophistication. A separate one-bedroom casita offers guests privacy and comfort, complete with its own kitchen area, living room, full bath, and laundry facilities.
The master suite provides a private retreat, featuring a spa-like bath, two walk-in closets, and direct access to a portal overlooking a beautiful rose garden. Serene portales further enhance outdoor living spaces, offering ideal spots to relax. Warm, earthy tones, handsome hardwood and stone-tile flooring, five fireplaces, vigas, and stylish fixtures contribute to the home’s inviting ambiance.
The property is beautifully landscaped, with the main house and casita sharing a large, enclosed, terraced garden filled with flowers and butterfly bushes visible from every window. It's the perfect place to unwind, enjoy a meal, or sip a drink while sitting on a shaded bench.
Throughout the home, you’ll find decorative hand-painted ceiling beams and lintels, painted by Arizona artist Ted DeGrazia. These beams, once part of the DeGrazia studio in Tucson, were saved when the studio was torn down in the 1980s and were incorporated into the design of this Santa Fe residence.
Casa del Norte is conveniently located just 2.8 miles from downtown Santa Fe, offering easy access to shopping and restaurants. The parking area for the northern Dale Ball trail system is only 1.5 miles away, providing immediate access to a network of trails with expansive views of Santa Fe, the Sandia, Jemez, and Sangre de Cristo mountains. The Santa Fe Opera is a mere 12-minute drive, and the home’s location just off Hyde Park Road offers easy access to the Santa Fe ski area, making it ideal for skiers and hikers alike.
PLEASE NOTE: Security cameras are installed outside the property for safety.
Very positive
Team was great - Amelia was awesome!
The house was more than I could have imagined. So pleased. The only two things to even note were the spiders and the oven. The oven seemed to take a very long time to preheat...maybe thermostat isn't working properly. We were able to work around it.
The original house I had contracted sold so Amelia was able to find an even more incredible home - the Casa del Norte.
